About the Program

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at UCCS offers a minor in Chemistry.

Focus of Study

The minor in Chemistry provides a background in general chemistry and organic chemistry plus upper-division elective experience in analytical, physical, inorganic, forensic, or computational chemistry.

Please note that a student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry may not obtain a minor in Chemistry.

Students should familiarize themselves with the prerequisite requirements for these courses before pursuing the minor.

Program Requirements for Admission

A student may complete a minor in chemistry by finishing the following course work with grades of “C” or better for a total of 27 credit hours of CHEM course work, including 17 credit hours of upper-division CHEM course work.
