Sam is a Colorado native who completed his undergraduate degree at BYU-Idaho. During his time as a student, he concurrently held multiple employment positions within the chemistry department, specializing in lab preparation, inventory management, and UX optimization for OER chemistry textbooks. Prior to joining UCCS in 2022, Sam worked outdoors as an environmental scientist for a nonprofit organization, then in a water quality lab as an analytical technician. Outside of work, Sam is a multi-genre music enthusiast who enjoys interacting with local musicians across the Front Range.
